The 100th edition of the Tour of Catalonia postponed to 2021

The 100th edition of the Tour of Catalonia was to take place in 2020, it will not be. With the current situation, the organizers have decided to postpone this anniversary edition until next year, to guarantee an attractive startlist : “It is very clear to us that we do not want to race at any cost. It wouldn't make sense to organize it at the same time as the Tour de France, from Italy or Spain, to compete for the best riders and TV audiences. We want to celebrate a 100th edition with the best guarantees and the biggest stars in the world” said the general manager of the event, Ruben Paris. “We do not plan to organize it in a reduced format either.. This is why we believe that the most sensible and adequate option, is to organize it during our usual dates, but from 22 at 28 mars 2021”. Last year, Miguel Angel López won, in front of Adam Yates and Egan Bernal.
