Jean Christophe Péraud, former 2nd in the Tour de France, had been appointed by the UCI to direct the operations relating to the fight against technological doping, thus aiming to restore credibility to sport on this point. After 2 unsuccessful years to say the least, the international body has decided to back off discreetly, simply removing the post from French. Ineffective action, which will leave a taste of unfinished business, for an organization that said it took this problem very seriously.
