Former Austrian rider Stefan Denifl, involved in the Aderlass affair which brought to light a blood doping network organized by Dr Mark Schmidt, received this Tuesday from 2 years of imprisonment, 16 months suspended and 8 month closed. A sanction with a fine of 349 000 euros, while Dr Schmidt suffered a much heavier sanction, with 5 and a half years in prison. A decision by the Innsbruck court in charge of the case, who condemns in an exemplary way this organized cheating network, which caused a lot of ink to flow when the elements of the investigation were brought to light, attesting in particular that the Austrian rider had recourse to these 2014 at 2018, period in which he had, among others, won a stage of the Vuelta 2017. The two parties have three days to appeal this decision.
