Colombian from Team Arkea Samsic, lieutenant of Nairo Quintana, suffered a heavy fall while riding an ATV while training. Here is the press release published by his team : “Winner Anacona crashed at the weekend during mountain bike training, in Colombia, without loss of consciousness. Our runner was operated on in the wake of the face, with aesthetic sutures placed on the outside of the eye. Stitches were also applied to the left knee. The examinations performed have, otherwise, revealed intercostal lesions, as well as a kidney contusion, which caused temporary hematuria, resulting from the shock. Yvon Ledanois, its referent sports director, allowed a collaboration in perfect symbiosis, and without language barrier, between the medical staff of the Arkéa-Samsic team and the one who took care of Winner Anacona in Colombia, with the common goal of the health of our runner.”
Hopefully he regains all his abilities quickly and can resume training as soon as possible, a fall as the recovery approaches is always difficult to manage.
