Today, I present to you my feedback on the latest version of the Selle Italia Flite Boost, in its carbon version. Reference model of the Italian manufacturer, it is aimed at regular practitioners looking for performance and lightness.
Quality at the rendezvous
Like he usually does, Selle Italia offers with this model a particularly successful saddle on which nothing is left to chance. The finish is excellent, and the seat is always so well thought out. With the IdMatch system allowing you to choose the ideal size and shape according to your morphology, you are guaranteed to find a saddle perfectly adapted to your characteristics. What to help in the choice of the model, especially since it takes 299€ to afford this top-of-the-range model, I therefore find the options offered particularly interesting. (valid for all models of the brand elsewhere).
Once on my bike, I immediately found the seat very interesting, an important point when you know that it sometimes takes several weeks and a few hundred kilometers to feel comfortable on a new saddle. Here, the sensations are good from the start, and I personally found my bearings quite quickly, without having to reposition myself too frequently as is sometimes the case when changing saddles. The weight of the model is one of its strengths, with 157g only for the version in size S3 (162 en L3), displaying a width of 135mm for a length of 250mm. Enough to guarantee a saddle goes everywhere that will not weigh down the machine, disc bikes are sometimes quite heavy, it may be worth investing in hardware that is light enough in terms of peripherals.
Compared to the previous version that I had also been able to test, the length has been extended by 2mm, and the weight is down to him by about 3g. Rails are now carbon / ceramic, where only carbon was used on the old version. Some improvements that make this Selle Italia Flite Boost even more efficient.
This model is very well thought out., the adaptation time necessary to find my bearings seemed to me shorter than on other models or other brands that I have already been able to test. The price is that of a high-end saddle, with carbon rails / oval ceramics and of course an impeccable finish, this model is therefore of course aimed at competitors, or to regular practitioners in search of lightness and sensations.
